Vacation

San Diego was sunny and beautiful!! No humidity what so ever. After our long 9 hour haul out there we were ready to relax and enjoy. Petco Park....so nice. If only the Mets could have won more games.
Trying to take a photo of ourselves.

At Seaport Village, this cute little area we ran into one day while exploring. It had shops, food and boats.

At the Waverunner....this place had it's own man created wave that people were surfing on.

Enjoying some drinks before the game....and a buffalo chicken pizza that was so yummy. No wonder why my pants were tight by the end of the trip!

Petco at night.

And we are off to Phoenix where it was over 100 degrees! Hot and sticky. The stadium was air conditioned though so we didn't sweat too much.

Is that a Mets player?? Sometimes I truly believe that Bob thinks he is part of the team.

Some very weird Palm tree trunks.

And now we are home and depressed and want to go back. Overall it was an awesome trip and we hope to do it again soon.

A True Fan

It is a tough year for all Met's fans out there but Simpson is still a believer.....and unfortunately so is Bob.

Wedding Weekend

Bob and I escaped this weekend to a beautiful wedding in Rhode Island. The venue was amazing and the day could not have been more beautiful.

The new Mr. andMrs. Bob and I enjoying the sun!

Friends.

The flowers were gorgeous!

Place cards...

My attempt at editing a photo. I cropped, enhanced and added my own artistic flair. I think it came out pretty nice.

My first project

I got a new computer program to help me edit my photos and I just finished my first project. It takes a little while to get the hang of it but patience is key. I think it came out pretty awesome if you ask me. And yes, this is a thank you card from my dogs. A little weird I know but people eat them up!

Just call me Martha Stewart from now on.

Flowers do a house good

I am always amazed by the difference pretty, colorful flowers make to the appearance of your house. I planted my flower boxes and planters this weekend. Hot pink and salmon color impatients and geraniums. For 20 dollars, I will get a good bang for my buck. I am posting some pre bloom shots to demonstrate the boringness of our house right now. I will post in a month or so to show what a difference the flowers make.

And yes that is a Mets flag that hangs outside our door.

Fun in the Sun

Metty, Simpson and I had a ball in the sun this weekend. Auntie Jessica came over to relax and ended up taking all of these great photos. Metty is such a sweetheart. How could you not fall in love with that face?
Isn't this hat so cute? Compliments of Vera Bradley.

And there is that tongue we love.

JP turns 1!!!

So my cute little nephew Jason Patrick (aka JP) turned one this past week. He is so cute and grown up!! It is crazy how fast they grow. Sponge Bob square pants is his absolute favorite so he had a Sponge Bob Birthday party.
And he got his first new bike. How cute is he???

And after the festivities little JP was pooped out and fell asleep with his best buddy Bob. Man, I cannot wait to have kids!!

Wedding Season Is coming....

So we came home from our trip to Boston and found this beautiful invitation in the mail. I could not get over how pretty it was. I opened it up and immediatley filled out the response card. I know how exicting those first few weeks after you send out your wedding invitations can be. So of course I want to be prompt with our response.

Of course the first thing Bob does is go over to his Mets schedule on the fridge to see how this wedding will compete with his beloved Mets game. Of course they are at the same time. I don't know how I deal with this!!! I must be a very loving and patient wife.

Practice makes Perfect

I am still trying to figure out my new camera (Nikon D60). We got it around Christmas and I have not devoted any time to reading the manual. What fun would that be?
Anyways, every time I try to do a close up shot the camera freezes. Of course at first I thought something was wrong with the camera. But now I have realized that it was most likely user error. So this morning I took the camera out and was determined to get a nice photo. We never took these types of photos at our wedding. I guess it just did not cross my mind so I figured I would start here. About 20 shots later and about 6 different settings and I had the shot. I think I need to keep the setting on the picture of the flower. They seemed to come out the clearest when I did it this way.
So I am going to keep practicing. We may have another wedding coming up soon where my services will be needed!

Our One Year Anniversary.....

In five days Bob and I will have been married for one year!!! It is hard to believe that so much time has flown by. It seems like just yesterday we were planning the wedding. Bob often asks me if we can do it all over again. I say as much as I would love to I do not think my dad would spring for another one. It was a blast though and we will always remember it.

So what does one get their husband for their first year anniversary?? I was not sure but of course I felt like I should get him something. Afterall, he has been a good husband....most of the time! So I thought about it and decided to get him the one Mets jersey he does not have...Johan Santana. I am wondering now why I would decide to buy him something that would only add to the current problem we have...a closet full of Mets jerseys that Bob wears every possible chance that he gets. I guess I knew he would love it and I couldn't resist.
We have not decided what we are doing yet but I am sure we will go out to eat. I have sort of left everything up to Bob to plan.....hahahha, I guess I am not expecting too much. But he can surprise you when you least expect it. I will just have to wait and see!

Sneaky Simpson

I know I mentioned earlier that we thought Simpson was a little slow. However, there are many times when I think that Simpson knows more than we think he does. Let's take last night for instance. He kept pretending that he had to go pee so he could come back in and get a treat. What is sad is that we stopped giving him treats every time he went pee about two years ago. But sure as anything he runs back in from outside and sits on the rug in front of the kitchen sink waiting for something. I wonder when he is going to figure it all out.

I had to post this picture of Metty because it was sooooo cute. And it demonstrates what an awesome photographer I am...well not really but it is still cute.

Spring is here...finally!

So I have decided to start blogging. Having recently been inspired by a fellow blogger, I have decided that this is a perfect way to keep Mom and Dad upated on all that goes on in our very exciting lives (we will just pretend they are exciting!).

Metty is a little peanut, well that is what we call him because he is so small and cute. He cries a lot, espcially when no one will play with him.
For those of you who have not met Simpson he is quite unique. Bob and I think he might be a little slow but he also has the longest tongue ever. Take a look. He has trouble keeping it in his mouth.
Anyways, they are the two best dogs ever and for now they are our children.

So yesterday was beautiful out and Metty and Simpson did not know what to do with themselves! They ran around all day and played in the sun. They even helped Mom put up the patio set, while Dad was inside watching the Mets game (something is not right about this!). All the hard work tired Simpson out and he quickly took shelter from the sun. What a hard life he has.
So today we plan to go down to Quinnipiac to hike the Sleeping Giant. There is a women's soccer Alumni Game as well. I will obvisouly not be taking part in this. It has probably been three years since I touched a soccer ball and I really do not want to injure myself....or make a fool of myself which would be inevitable. So we will be going to watch and cheer but staying on the sidelines for sure. We need to enjoy the weather while it lasts because they say that the cold is coming back sometime later this week.
